Quadio Q+ hearing app for Android & iOS launched in India

A complete mobile-based hearing solution that provides all the features of a conventional hearing correction mechanism.

If we go according to the numbers, about 10% population of India has hearing problems. Out of them only 1% of the population uses hearing aid devices. Why the other 9% of the people with hearing problems are not using a hearing aid device? For some, those devices are expensive. For some, it makes them look like a disabled person and makes them feel inferior. To overcome this, Quadio Devices Pvt Ltd, a leading hearing care provider of India, introduced their path breaking Quadio Q+ hearing app in Mumbai on android and iOS platforms.

Why use a hearing aid – a seperate device for your hearing problems, when it can be taken care of by an app in your smartphone itself(which you carry along with you all day anyways). The app promises to be a mobile-based hearing solution complete with all the features of a conventional hearing tool. Quadio Q+ hearing app is a first of its kind free application that is ultra-advanced as well as affordable, accessible, controllable and customizable.

How it works?

Quadio Q+ hearing app harnesses the processing power of your smart phone to enable it to be used as a complete and fully-functional hearing mechanism. It is designed to maximize the listening experience based on the results of a simple interactive hearing test. The app also gives you the ability to control and customize sound quality by intelligently enhancing hearing sounds and speech. With the Quadio Q+ hearing app you can easily follow conversations using the phone headset in both quiet and noisy environments, and control the sound quality to customize it to your preference. The inbuilt hearing test in Q+ is calibrated for accuracy as per ANSI standards for audiometry.

Sharing his excitement at the app launch, Neeraj Dotel, CEO, Quadio Devices Pvt Ltd said,

“Hearing loss is the second largest disability in the country that affects more than 120 million lives with majority sufferers over the age of 60. There are less than 2000 practicing audiologists in India and therefore most people have never actually received treatment until their hearing has degraded severely with age. The Q+ app is a stellar example of the innovative capabilities of Quadio where our customers don’t have to shell out big bucks for hearing care and anyone with a smartphone can now have access to high-quality hearing mechanism.”

“It gives me extreme pleasure to introduce Q+, a hearing solution app that delivers a complete hearing experience. When we started Quadio in 2009, the objective was to come up with a hearing solution that empowered people to hear what they wanted, how they wanted and wherever they wanted. The flexibility of controls offered by a smartphone app is much more than that offered by conventional hearing aids and, along with the affordability of smartphones, the reach of app store, and the inbuilt test, this gets us closer to achieving our objective. I appreciate the hard work put in by our team in creating a wonderful amalgam of technology, intuitive design and stellar performance into a package that is Q+.”

After installation and opening the Quadio Q+ hearing app for first time, you will be asked to select earphone type. It would be better if you use the earphones which came with the phone at the time of purchase, since those are calibrated specially for your phone. After this you’ll be asked if you are new to this app or you have been using it for some time. Next step would be to either take a hearing test or to enter your Audiogram values(which you have received from your audiologist).

Is it better than an actual hearing aid?

Even though this application has a lot of customization options and works flawlessly, it may not be enough for every person with hearing problems. So consult with your audiologist first and see if your hearing problem can be solved using this app or not, since degree of hearing problem is different in each person.

Is it free?

Even though the app is free currently, Quadio has plans of bringing in the freemium model of the app which will have in app purchase to unlock all the extended features of the app such as more customization in hearing quality and much more. Even without purchasing the extended version, you can use basic functions of the app for free. The Quadio Q+ hearing app will also be having a 2-month trial period of the extended version, so you can try the features before you decide to purchase.
